UK National Stalking Awareness Week

Stalking Awareness Week

This week in the UK see's the annual National Stalking Awareness Week. It was started in 2011 by Laura Richards of Paladin a national stalking advocacy agency in the UK, now it has been a yearly event. It helps to bring awareness of the dangers of stalking or of having a stalker.

Sometimes, personal relationships end, office workers develop a fixation... There are several type of stalkers, which we are looking to cover here this week on the blog.

Many times a relationship ends, but sadly one of the couple becomes fixated after the affair is over. It can be intimidating, violating your personal space, text messages are abundant and continuous throughout the day along with a barrage of phone calls. Life feels unsafe, In my own personal experience, it also became violent.

We see the phone calls, the notes, emails and texts as a nuisance at first, not fully comprehending at first what is developing. This is why Stalking Awareness Week is not only crucial but vital to teaching, educating and helping people become aware of what is happening, especially when one in six women and one in 12 men will be victims of Stalking in the UK each year.

To launch it this year, I am holding a Facebook gathering at 8pm GMT/3pm EST. You can join us, share your story, pictures any advice for those who are still being stalked. It can feel isolating and lonely, but we all can let people know they are not alone. Click here on the picture below to join us, it's free!

This week, I am relaunching Stalking Liberty, with a new cover and a special coupon for a 50% discount, just click on the picture to go to smashwords.com and use Coupon Code: EN93Y for the special price of $2.50. The Coupon is valid for one week, until the 25th of April, 2016.

If you need to talk to someone there is a Stalking Helpline in the UK: 0808 802 0300 run by The Stalking Helpline. If you feel you are in immediate danger, call the Police and dial 999. Don't be afraid to call them, I did and it was the best thing I did, the officer looking after my case, seriously saved my life!
